Saturday's massage was by far the best thing I have done for myself in years. I had nearly forgotten what it felt like to feel human again... to walk like a 33 year old woman, rather than a 93 year old. It hurt so bad at times, but then felt SO good, that I very nearly cried right there on the table. I'm going back in two weeks.

Additionally, in an effort to do a little internal "spring cleaning," to continue the work that was started with my massage, and to generally just get to feeling better, I've started a detox. For at least one week, perhaps two, I am foregoing my beloved cheeses, my higher-fat cultured European butter, my morning coffee, my evening cocktail or wine, and all grains except for rice and quinoa. I'm loading up on water, fresh fruits and veggies, water, decaf green tea, water, lentils, beans, nuts and seeds, water, water, more water, fresh seafood, and finally, more water.
I'm taking a multivitamin and a few selected supplements which should help get the crud out of my system and make things run more smoothly, and I'm going to try my darnedest to manage my stress levels better.
It's time to be more proactive about taking care of my body. I've grown increasingly frustrated with the complete lack of help or good advice I've received from doctors, and I'm just about ready to say to hell with traditional medicine for a while. It has it's place, but it has become painfully obvious that it does NOT have all of the answers.
I'm feeling cautiously optimistic, and, for a change, in control.

good for you Jen.
i had to do the same thing with my IBS. After years and years of pain, I finally said screw it and decided to create some huge dietary changes. It's not a perfect science, but so much better than before.
I'm sure you'll see results too.
GOOD LUCK.
