WHEW. Thank God he's so resilient, Jen. My house has also has a completely open staircase that opens onto the great room, and when Piper had been home no more than 2 or so months, she also got too curious and fell. From the very. top. ledge, a good 20 feet or so (naturally, the Great Room has Great Ceilings). She landed on her feet, luckily, let out a stunned chirp, and froze in her place until I got to her.

Watching the fall was easily my most terrifying moment with her; I can imagine how you & Mike felt! A BIG hug to all of you.

xx

Paula - It was really terrifying, but he still seems to have come out of it fine. He slept well last night, was back to his normal, kooky self this morning, and Mike said he has been in a happy little mood all day today. We reinforced the barrier we had put up, so hopefully any gaps he might try to squeeze through are completely closed off and we won't have a repeat of this.

OMG! Kirby, how could you scare your mama and your papa so badly?! It's a good thing he's a healthy resilient young cat, and he must've tucked his head so he didn't hit that. I wonder if he'll feel somewhat bruised tomorrow? Next up...lessons on landing on one's feet. No no, make that lessons on staying off dangerous places!
