Dietschtoberfest

by jenblossom on October 7, 2005

The celebration of the 37th anniversary of The Birth of Dietsch begins today, with lunch here, after-work cocktails here, then a feast of bivalves and aged grape juice here.

Tomorrow, the actual anniversary of his birth, we plan to lunch here, and hopefully see this. And I’m sure I’ll come up with an appropriately decadent birthday dinner. Maybe there will even be cake in there somewhere.

On Sunday, we plan to head down to Red Hook to check out an art exhibit our neighbors are part of, then stop off for a pint or two here.

Monday is open.

Looking forward to a full, fun weekend…

[Edit: Slight revision in plans, in part because of the weather, and in part because we couldn't tear ourselves away from Pegu Club after just two rounds... we stayed for one more, then hit Dean & Deluca on the way home. We dined on cheeses, baguette, sopressata piccante and duck pate with port, turned in early, and we'll go to Marlow & Sons for oysters at some point today, before Serenity. Also, Shake Shack may be a no-go because IT'S POURING out there, but we'll see.]

Wow, that sounds pretty marvellous!

Happy Birthday, Mike!

I had the nicest evening in Red Hook years ago eating at the bar at the Red Hook Inn. Best Caesar Salad I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
